Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon – Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) is participating in the Shine Course, a comprehensive mental health coach development program designed and facilitated by the Emotional Reset Center. Thirty-seven (37) NBSC faculty and officials have enrolled in the Shine Course, seeking to become certified mental health coaches. The onboarding workshop successfully commenced on May 27, 2023, via the Zoom platform.

The course will take a total of 91 hours, comprising virtual live classes, LMS, practicum, certification examination, and consultation. The sessions will cover topics including mental health foundations, coaching techniques, and special considerations in coaching, among others. These will be facilitated by mental health coaches Brenda Valenzuela-Fortune, Ph.D., LMHC; Maria Bryce Fabro, Ph.D.; and Richie Ann Rodriguez, MD.

The NBSC participants have already completed the RESET Workshop and the first module that focused on understanding the basics of mental health on June 3, 2023, and June 10, 2023, respectively. The program will be until August 19, 2023.

With the Shine Course, participating faculty and officials will be empowered to nurture resilience, compassion, and mindfulness that will pave the way for a psychologically safe and supportive NBSC.
